New home for Shipston Cycling Club's group rides
CHAIRMAN Andy Smith says Shipston Cycling Club has moved its group rides to a new home to reduce the impact on users of the town's leisure centre.
The club, which now has more than 60 members, has moved away from the leisure centre and now sets out from the Bridge car park, just off Mill Street.
Smith said: "As the club goes from the strength-to-strength, we became increasingly wary of our impact on users of the Leisure Centre – the previous meet-up point for our Sunday club rides.
"We strive to be considerate to all road users, and so moving to the Bridge car park gives us more space to gather without inconveniencing others."
The club enjoyed a successful summer with group rides back on the agenda and riders' favourite cafes back fully open for business.
Their popular Thursday evening pub rides made a welcome return, while several members took part in cycling challenges all over the country.
Smith added: "We've been delighted to welcome new members of all abilities over the summer.
"We're an inclusive club and encourage anyone wanting to try riding with us to come along and meet us at the Bridge car park at 9.30am on a Sunday morning."
