FC Stratford aim to make Telegraph Cup headlines

While Folly Lane are arguably the top team in Coventry, Jaguar lie mid-table and FC manager Pete Stephens says his side want to seize the chance to impress.

“Jaguar are mid-table in the Alliance, so they are not quite the level of Folly Lane but we’ve got an idea of the standard we will face,” said Stephens.

FC Stratford and Jaguar have already met, having drawn 3-3 in a pre-season friendly and Stephens suggests the hosts will be stronger this time.

Tom Dykes will be ruled out of the cup game, through suspension, but Charlie Evans could be involved after injury.

Suspensions will mean Shipston Excelsior will have to rule out top scorer Will Beach and defender Matt Partridge for their Midland League Division Three match at home to Burntwood Town.

The duo have two-match bans after their red cards against Enville two weeks ago.

But manager Steve Hedderman is optimistic his squad, recently depleted, will be boosted by a handful of returnees.

Striker Jake Harris will hope to put his injury frustration behind him after having treatment for a back niggle while midfielder Alex Seys and Elliott Wright should also be available.

Alcester Town will look to build on last week’s excellent win against Redditch when they travel to Coventrians.
