VIDEO: Aircraft will fly from Wellesbourne for years to come say campaigners
Campaigners fighting to prevent Wellesbourne Airfield from being developed into housing say they are confident aircraft will still be flying from the site in 20 years’ time.
During a meeting at the airfield today, members of Wellesbourne Matters, the group leading the opposition to the plan, said it’s focus on legal arguments rather than emotional ones was bringing results.
Airfield owners, the Littler family, have said they would like to sell the site to housing developers and in 2014 Gladman Developments put forward a proposal to build up to 1,500 homes there.
The company have yet to submit a formal planning application to develop the site.
Duncan MacKillop, chairman of Wellesbourne Matters, talked to the Herald about the group’s campaign to save Wellesbourne Airfield.
