But Constable urged his players to again step up to the task when they entertain Pelsall Villa today in Midland League Division One.

“We have had a tough week in terms of results, but I’m hoping the performance will give the lads much-needed confidence and we kick on with a positive result at home to Pelsall Villa on Saturday,” said Constable.

“Our shape defensively was superb, as we had a long chat about how we wanted the game to go and it worked as we were hard to break down and frustrated Swifts.”

But it’s the lack of goals that worries the manager, with Saints having failed to score in four consecutive matches, since their 3-1 win at Villa last month.

“We must offer more of a threat going forward, as we have plenty of quality in the squad,” added Constable.

Southam will be without striker Ben Purser, who broke a bone in his foot on Tuesday and faces a spell on the sidelines.

Racing Club Warwick are at home to Heather St Johns, looking to complete a double after winning 5-2 away in August.

Studley entertain Lichfield City in what will be their first home fixture after six in a row away, and Littleton are also on home turf against Pilkington XXX.

All the matches kick off at 3pm.
