Southam suffer home defeat
The Saints had the chances as they looked to complete a league double over Pelsall, but the visitors took the points, thanks to a 22nd-minute goal from Spencer Blackham.
Southam started with purpose when Tunde Ajibade set up Charlie Cook in the second minute, but his shot was well wide.
Saints keeper Nathan Carro rescued his side with a good one-handed save to tip Dean Williams’ shot over the bar after ten minutes.
Nut Villa took the lead in the 22nd minute following a good run down the left by Calum Phillips and, with the home defence failing to pick up the cross, Blackham was left unmarked at the far post to shoot past Carro.
After the break, Southam chased an equaliser, with Lee Thomas pushed upfront, but one effort was ruled offside and then a dangerous cross from Ajibade was cleared.
Pelsall had their moments too when Carro tipped over a Michael Murphy shot and the keep saved from Williams, before he then struck the post, with Carro beaten.
Southam had one last chance to level seven minutes from time, but his shot landed on top of the bar.
SOUTHAM: Carro, Regan, Thomas, Cheshire, Harvey, Wilson, Ajibade, Goonan, Cook, O’Callaghan (c), Cawley.
