Chris Zebroski nets FOUR times as Malmesbury Victoria stun Hellenic League Division One hopefuls Studley

CHRIS Zebroski scored all four goals as Malmesbury Victoria put on a superb showing to beat high-flying Studley 4-1 on Saturday.

Zebroski had given the visitors a 29th-minute lead before Sam Jackson restored parity a few minutes before half-time.

Star man Zebroski restored Malmesbury's lead eight minutes after the restart before a further two goals inside the final half-hour secured a fine win for the visitors.

Defeat for Studley keeps them second in the table, one point behind Clanfield 85 but with three games in hand. The Bees are also one point clear of third-placed Worcester Raiders, who have played a game more.

With barely a minute of Saturday's game gone, Malmesbury were shouting for a penalty, but those appeals were waived away by the referee.

Malmesbury continued to pile the pressure on the hosts, including three corners in a row, before goalkeeper Adam Clatworthy had to be alert up the end to save Robbie Bunn’s effort in the 15th minute.

The visitors continued to dominate possession and in the 29th minute they took the lead when Zebroski finished off a fine move.

Studley continued to find themselves on the back foot for the rest of the half, but three minutes before the interval they got back into the contest.

Odane Barnes robbed a defender and laid the ball into Jackson who finished well to make it 1-1.

Studley enjoyed plenty of possession at the start of the second half, but were unable to penetrate Malmesbury’s defence.

And in the 53rd minute Zebroski had his and Malmesbury’s second when he was put clean through to score.

The Bees came close to equalising when Sean Brain hit the post, but as they continued to huff and puff, the visitors scored twice more through man-of-the-match Zebroski to secure the 4-1 victory.

Studley entertain FC Stratford tomorrow (7.45pm kick-off).
