STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams believes his side were punished for failing to convert their chances against Weymouth on Saturday.

Ben Thomson struck twice as Weymouth came from behind to claim a 2-1 win at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Despite highlighting the positives from the display, Adams was ultimately left disappointed with his side’s inability to convert their opportunties into goals.

“We got punished for our missed chances,” he said.

“We had enough to have won three games let alone one, and although we put on a good performance we have come away with nothing to show for it.

“They were more clinical in their finishing and that is what won the game.

“It’s a hard one to take, but we will go again against Hitchin on Tuesday.”

Town take on fourth-placed Hitchin at the DCS on Tuesday before another home game against play-off hopefuls Hungerford Town this Saturday.
