Although Will is unlikely to play rugby again he is now pursuing his passion to become a professional rugby referee and on Saturday as well as watching the game he refereed an U10s game, and met England rugby internationals Ben Youngs and Dan Cole.

“I watched the first half from the control tower where the television match official or TMO sits. At half time I went on the pitch and had photos taken then I watched the second half in the stand with my family. It was an incredible experience and I learnt so much refereeing,” Will said.

Will said his mum Suzanne, dad Ken and brothers Elliot and Tom had a great day out and really enjoyed the bacon sandwiches and soup in the club’s press room before kick-off.

Recently, doctors gave Will the all-clear in terms of his brain scan which means he’s on the road to a full recovery.
