A 20-YEAR-OLD Stratford man has been jailed for robbery after threatening a shop worker and demanding money from the till.

Danny Warner, formerly of Birmingham Road, was sentenced to 26 months in prison for one count of robbery and one count of failing to surrender to court bail.

The following day, he handed himself in at a police station in Banbury, claiming he had committed the offence.

Warner then refused to cooperate with the police investigation, but officers used CCTV footage from the store to secure a charge.

PC Max Christmas, from Warwick safer neighbourhood team, said: “This was a terrifying incident for the victim, and we welcome the sentence handed down at court.”
