Horrible Histories writer to open new maze
TERRY Deary - the man who created the hugely-popular Horrible Histories - will be at Warwick Castle this morning, Tuesday, to open a new maze.
Mr Deary will meet local schoolchildren and members of Warwickshire Scout groups at the opening of the maze that will bring history to life in gripping and gruesome ways.
This is the second time the wonderful worlds of Warwick Castle and Horrible Histories collide.
Last year saw the launch of the Wicked Warwick live stage-show last year and Horrible Histories' 20th anniversary celebrations held at Warwick Castle in 2013.
This is a maze with a difference - the aim is not to reach the centre, but to reorder the muddle that mischievous Rattus Rattus has made of time, and find the way out!
So, equipped with a passport, the challenge to visitors is to unravel clues and get their passport stamped in every area.
En-route visitors will encounter the Stormin’ Normans, Slimy Stuarts and the treacherous Gunpowder Plotters, and Wicked Witches with their noxious concoctions!
Inspired by the geometric mazes of the past, the Horrible Histories Maze, is multi-sensory, and features moving walls, interactive puzzles, stone, wicker and water, as well as being crammed with Deary’s foul facts and Martin Brown’s crazy cartoons.
Geoff Spooner, General Manager at Warwick Castle, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Horrible Histories again, it’s a perfect partnership for us. We have the most authentic of settings for Terry Deary’s great story-telling, in all its glory, gore and gruesomeness.”
The Horrible Histories Maze: Get Lost in Time! is included in the general admission price.
