Firefighters tackle Shipston house fire
Firefighters rescued a woman in Shipston last night following a house fire in Pittway Avenue.
Emergency services were called to the property just after 10.30pm, with three fire crews from Shipston, Stratford and Wellesbourne sent to the scene.
The caller stated that she was in the back bedroom and was unable to leave the property.
Firefighters entered the building, extinguishing the blaze, which was on the upstairs landing, using hose reel jets.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended, treating a man and a woman who had suffered smoke inhalation.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a property in Shipston at 10.30pm by the fire service. One ambulance, a paramedic support officer and a community first responder attended the scene. Two people, a man and a woman suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital in Warwick.”
