Brand new production The Odyssey comes to Stratford-upon-Avon's Bear Pit Theatre this week.

Following the success of Moscow Stations performed at Bear Pit last year, Simon Kemp and Tony Peters have collaborated on a follow-up production The Odyssey based on the epic poem by Homer.

The production which comes to the Bear Pit Theatre this Tuesday, 8th and Wednesday, 9th November tells of Odysseus’ ten-year journey home to Itheca and to his wife Penelope, following victory at the battle of Troy.

On his adventure, Odysseus meets gods and monsters, sirens and a sorceress, and minimal staging and dramatic lighting the production will create storms, a ship wreck, and the dangers that lurk on the many islands Odysseus visits.
