That’s all folk!
MORE than 2,000 folk fans are expected to descend on Stratford-upon-Avon ArtsHouse this weekend for the three-day Stratford Folk Festival where local favourites Fleetwood Cave and Magik River will perform alongside international stars Show of Hands and Cara Dillon.
Northern Irish singer Cara, who performs at the festival with her band which includes husband Sam Lakeman, chatted to Herald arts ahead of her slot on Sunday, 4th June.
The acclaimed singer, renowned for her beautifully soulful folk vocal – which is both timeless and contemporary – spoke about her delight of coming to Stratford.
"I remember being in Stratford – which is so beautiful – and singing at Holy Trinity, which was wonderful.
"We’ll be taking the audience on a journey – we do some ballads and then some rip-roaring tunes. It looks like a great line up and I’m really looking forward to it.”
If you watched the recent Tinker Bell movie, The Great Fairy Rescue, you’ll have heard Cara’s lovely lilting voice: she sings the opening and closing songs and narrates the beginning of the story.
