Music and food festival near Stratford set to return after eight-year absence
A POPULAR family music and street food festival is set to return to Stratford for the first time in eight years this summer.
StratFest, which was last held in 2016, will be taking place at the Stratford Park Hotel and Golf Club on Saturday, 1st June.
Organisers have decided to bring back the event, which previously attracted more than 1,500 people.
A stage will be built near the driving range lake of the hotel’s 18-hole golf course and the festival is hoping to showcase the best musical talent from across Warwickshire.
The hotel is calling for local bands to get in touch for an opportunity to play at the festival, with the line-up to include DJs, bands, singers and more.
There are plans for a children’s section with fairground rides and activities for kids to enjoy on the day.
The hotel and golf club will also be organising a variety of street food to be available for festival-goers on the day and interested vendors are being invited to get in touch.
StratFest ran for five years up to 2016 and during that time also helped to raise money for local charities and causes – including Warwickshire Air Ambulance in 2015.
Beverley Haynes, general manager at the Stratford Park Hotel and Golf Club, said that the hotel was looking forward to bringing the festival back and will be focusing on giving local musicians a chance to shine.
She said: “It has been eight years since we last hosted StratFest and we’re really excited to be bringing back the family friendly festival.
“The aim is really to showcase as much incredible local talent and street food vendors as we can and we’d urge musicians and vendors to get in touch as soon as they can.
“There is definitely a gap for a festival of this type in Stratford and we’re sure it will be a wonderful day to bring the community together from the town and surrounding areas.
“We’ll be revealing more details in due course.”
