ALAN Ayckbourn’s sparkling comedy Bedroom Farce, presented by Second Thoughts Drama Group, has opened at The Bear Pit Theatre until Saturday, 12th November.

The mayhem unfolds as high-maintenance Trevor and Susannah blunder their way through the lives of long-married Ernest and Delia, endearing Malcom and Kate, and long-suffering Nick and Jan.

Director, Bernard Hall, says: “This is a gem of a comedy, full of Ayckbourn’s customary wit and arch observation of human nature. There are four couples, one crazy night, and lots of laughs.

“We have a great cast onboard, Roger Gowland and Annette Stocken are the mature and pilchard-eating Ernest and Delia, Rick Allen is the bed-ridden Nick, Rachel Alcock plays his feelings-divided wife Jan, Justin Osborne is the DIY-challenged Malcolm, with Sophie Jukes as his loving spouse Kate, and last, but not least, we have Ollie Heward and Hannah McBride as Trevor and Susannah, who blaze a chaotic trail through the proceedings.

“I have a great affection for Bedroom Farce, having played Nick in a production many moons ago — I felt then that it’s a show that ‘gives you a big hug’, and I still do.”

Tickets £12 (£10 concessions) are available from the RSC box office on 01789 403416 or via www.rsc.org.uk
