THIS weekend marks the start of Bretfest 2016 in the village of Bretforton, while in Stratford folk fans are preparing for two days of folk music and beer at FabFest.

A performance, by the Handlebards, of Romeo and Juliet will be staged at The Fleece in Bretforton today, Friday, at 7pm, followed by the village fete on Saturday, from 1.30pm, and then the BretFest band play in the evening on the recreation ground.

A week of events, see www.bretfest.com, finishes with the Last Night of the Prom on Saturday, 23rd July, at 5pm, at The Butty, featuring the renowned Bretforton Silver Band.

The free two-day Stratford FabFest takes place this Saturday and Sunday, 16th and 17th July, at the Old Tramway Inn, Shipston Road.

As well as lots of family entertainment, there’s also a beer tent with ten real ales and over 20 music acts on the bill, including headliners The Redhills, a local folk rock band.

The live music starts at lunchtime and finishes at 10pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.

The Stratford Home and Garden Show also takes place this weekend. CLICK HERE for full details.
