Classic Austen
CARAMBA Theatre Company present its production of Jane Austen’s timeless classic Emma at The Bear Pit Theatre this week.
One of Austen’s most popular novels, the story centres on the self-appointed matchmaker, Emma Woodhouse, and her attempts at pairing off her friends with comic, playful and frequently disastrous results.
It is a story full of typical Austen wit, vivid characters, social status and human nature — with a heroine of whom the author herself said: “No one but myself will much like!”
A supremely English Regency evening is promised.
The play runs from Wednesday, 16th, to Saturday, 19th November, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £10 and £8 available from the RSC box office on 01789 403416 or via www.rsc.org.uk
