Youngsters impress in second round of cross country league

ATHLETICS

STRATFORD AC youngsters stepped up to the challenge to shine on one of the highlights of the West Midland Young Athletes’ Cross Country League season, reports David Parkin.

Competing in the second round at Warley Wood, the team finished third on the day, moving up to fourth place in the league out of 20 clubs.

Alex Adams finished first in his race and Georgia Campbell and Tessa Parkin were second in theirs.

The team performance of the day was undoubtedly the U17 women, with all three scoring finishers in the top ten.
