WELLESBOURNE extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division in the Cotswold Hills Leeague after defeating Shipston-on-Stour in emphatic fashion.

Bourne reached 241 for eight in their innings, built on an excellent partnership of 115 between skipper Dave Barnett and Jonny Spence, before skittling out the visitors for 144 to claim a 97-run win and 24 points.

Wellesbourne now have a 37-point lead over second-placed Earlswood - and the two sides meet in a title showdown on Saturday.

Earlswood took 22 points from their seven-wickets victory at home to Leamington III

Alcester & Ragley gave their relegations fight a timely boost with a whopping 106-run win at home to fellow strugglers Tanworth and Camp Hill.

Alcester remain second from bottom but now trail Tanworth by just three points.

In Division One, Rowington slipped to a 45-runs defeat at Ashton-under-Hill while FISSC also lost out at home, going down by six wickets.

Lapworth enjoyed an eight wickets win in their trip to The Lenches in Division Two, but Wellesbourne II went down by 103 runs in their trip to Moreton-in-Marsh.

There were wins for both Shipston Seconds and Exhall & Wixford Seconds in Division Three, while Stratford Bards chalked up a whopping 341-8 as they hammered Inkberrow by 216 runs in Division Four.
