Wellesbourne and Kineton taste victory in the Cotswolds Hills Premier League




Wellesbourne and Kineton were both victorious in the latest round of matches in the Cotswolds Hills Premier League.

Jack Myatt top-scored with 68 and Gary Maynard contributed 40 as Wellesbourne defeated Exhall & Wixford by 69 runs.

Exhall & Wixford were bowled out for 181, despite Julian Morris’s 52.

Maynard also impressed with the ball, taking two wickets.

Kineton were six-wicket winners over Shipston-on-Stour.

Shipston-on-Stour were dismissed for 117, with James Cooper taking 3 for 41 runs.

In reply, Kineton chased down the target in 23.5 overs.

Tanworth and Camp Hill lost their first game of the campaign with a 70-run loss to Bretforton.

Bretforton posted 179 before Tanworth and Camp Hill were dismissed for 109, despite Oscar Newell’s 44.

Alcester & Ragley lost by four wickets in a high-scoring encounter at Aldestrop.

Batting first, Alcester & Ragley posted 261 for 6, with Toby Magnall contributing 66 and Rohan Campbell adding 40.

Adlestrop’s chase was anchored by an unbeaten 148 from Sam Keen.

Division One leaders Southam CC beat Ashton-Under-Hill.

Batting first, Southam posted 216 for 7, led by Chris Prophet’s 71 and Pete Rigney’s 69.

In reply, Ashton-Under-Hill were bowled out for 150, Dean Jordan impressing by claiming three wickets.

Third-placed FISSC were convincing 139-run winners against Rowington.

S. Suresh (73) and P. Kane (69) shared a 129-run stand for the third wicket as the hosts posted 229.

Rowington were bowled out for 90 in 26.2 overs, with P. Prabhakaran claiming 4 for 18.

Ashorne & Moreton Morrell suffered a five-wicket reverse against Long Itchington after being bowled out for just 83.

Temple Grafton lost by seven wickets to Stratford’s third string.

Leaders Norton Lindsey & Wolverton secured a commanding 152-run win over Mickleton.

Norton Lindsey amassed 303 for 6, with Mark Reading scoring an unbeaten 75 and both Jake Rushton and Stuart Shephard contributing 49.

In reply, Mickleton managed 151 for 6, with Tim Dobinson-Law top-scoring with 54.

Second-placed Henley-in-Arden defeated The Lenches CC by 72 runs.

Henley-in-Arden scored 208, with Chris Key scoring a dynamic 88 off 72 balls.

There was a surprise 41-run defeat for third-placed Moreton-in-Marsh against Shipston-on-Stour 2nds in Division Two.

Daniel Salvage picked up 4 for 35 as Shipston-on-Stour posted 152 before Moreton-in-Marsh were dismissed for 111.
