Weekend football round-up
ALCESTER Town made it three wins in a row following a 1-0 victory over Boldmere Sports & Social Falcons at Stratford Road on Saturday.
The only goal of the game arrived just before half-time, when Nick Dance cleverly timed his run to get behind the Boldmere full-back, before squaring the ball to Leon Blundell, who slotted home.
The win moves Alcester up to fourth in Midland League Division Three.
Littleton bowed out of the FA Vase following a 2-0 defeat at Kirby Muxloe. Littleton took the tie to extra-time before strikes from Dan Agar and Tyler Love saw the home side go through.
In Midland League Division One, Will Gayton scored twice as Studley crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Pershore Town. Louis Bridges and Sean Cooke were also on target.
Earlswood Town suffered their sixth defeat of the season in Midland League Division Two as they were edged out 1-0 by Bloxwich Town.
FC Stratford progressed to the next round of the Coventry Telegraph Cup with a 2-1 victory at Coventry Colliery. Ben Hill and Freddy Murphy got the goals for Dave Poulson's side.
In the Challenge Vase, Shipston Excelsior made an early exit after an 8-3 defeat at Moors Academy.
Chris Mills (2) and Jake Harris struck for Shipston, but Moors eased through courtesy of goals from Montel Okoro (2), Tyrese Shade (2), AJ Andrews, Callum Coyle and Blessing Nhundu.
