MATT Seeley and Richard Briggs made a winning start as joint managers of Alcester Town as they secured a 2-1 victory over Leamington Hibernian on Saturday.

New signing Tom Keogh's first-half brace sealed a deserved three points for Alcester, who moved up to fifth in the Midland League Division Three table.

In the Les James Challenge Cup, Shipston Excelsior crashed out following a 9-1 defeat at Enville Athletic, in a game where all ten goals arrived in the second half.

Rhys Morgan led the onslaught with four, with other goals coming from Jake Fairhurst (2), Max Lingley-Churchhill, Jack Martin, Connor Rich and Alex Byatt. Nick Shurmer netted in vain on a day to forget for Shipston.

In Midland League Division Two, FC Stratford had to settle for a point after playing out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Coventry Alvis at Green Lane. Josh Aspinall-Smyth, Alfred Boylin and Reece Staley all netted for Nick Ballinger's side.

Goals from Stuart Hendrie (2), Lewis Cosgrove and Rajpal Virk saw Earlswood Town fall to a 4-0 defeat to title-chasing GNP Sports at Sphinx Drive.

In Midland League Division One, Racing Club Warwick put their recent defeats in the FA Cup and FA Vase behind them as they stormed to a 5-0 home success over Coventry Copsewood. Ben Mackey struck twice, while there were singles from Wade Malley, Luke Cole and Sean Castleton.

Matt Langham scored four times as bottom club Littleton were thrashed 5-1 at Leicester Road.
