Weather wrecking Town's hopes of a top-ten finish
Further rain on Monday saw Tuesday’s clash with Poole Town also called off, leaving Town with a huge amount of fixtures to play between now and April.
The two postponements arrived at the worst possible time for Stratford, who were finally beginning to build some real momentum with excellent performances at Histon and Hungerford.
“It’s going to be hard to finish in the top ten now,” said Adams, whose side will have to play nine times in March.
“We have no other Tuesdays spare, so if one more is called off we’ll be playing Saturday-Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday. That’s enough to test any squad.
“The momentum is just killing us. We had two great results and we were all excited to have Poole up here.
“They are top of the league and we had a lot of sponsors coming to the game. It’s a real kick in the teeth for us.”
Town are now back on the road with a tough trip at play-off hopefuls Biggleswade Town before a home game against King’s Lynn Town next Tuesday.
Adams added: “Now we’re playing away again and it’s a tough ask for us.
“We were hoping to go to Biggleswade with a good home win over Poole.
“But I’m not looking for excuses — it is what it is. What is difficult for us is we’ve got around 20 games left to play, where as a lot of other sides have just 12 or 13.
“It’s all going very much against us, but we’ll still be doing our best to achieve our dream.”
Top scorer Edwin Ahenkorah and skipper Gary Moran both have hamstring strains and will both sit out Saturday’s trip to Biggleswade.
Stratford will also be without key midfielder Jack Roberts, who serves the first of a three-game ban.
Alex Price is back in contention for a starting role after returning to full fitness.
