Villagers take their first step on road to Twickenham

CHAMPIONS Harbury took their first tentative steps towards a Twickenham final with a convincing 38-7 victory in the opening round of the Papa John’s Community Cup.

Just a week after sealing the Counties Three Midlands West (South) title having amassed an impressive 100 points through the season, the Villagers dispatched visitors Northampton BBOB in impressive style.

Harbs ran in six tries – five of them in an excellent first half – and had six different players on the scoresheet including a superb solo effort from centre Jackson Hobson and a well-worked team effort that was started and finished off by second rower Tom Allen.

Next up is another home tie with Gloucestershire side Tewkesbury on Saturday and if they win that one then it will be a trip to either Rugby St Andrews or Trentham in the quarter-finals.
