Teenager lands national title in straight sets
TEENAGE squash ace Mariam Eissa is the new national u19 champion … and she is still just 16-years-old.
The Stratford Squash Club member did not drop a single game on her way to lifting the English Junior title at the event at the University of Nottingham Sport.
After finishing runner-up in last year’s championships, the top seed produced a masterclass to overpower Buckinghamshire’s Emily Coulcher-Porter in straight games - 11-6, 11-4, 11-4.
Speaking after the vent she said: “I feel absolutely amazing. All the hard work that I put into every game, every session - I feel like it’s finally picking up.
“I owe Emily a big thanks for always giving me great finals. We’ve had so many battles and I’m sure we’ll continue having them.”
