Table-toppers Bears avoid a Shock in one-sided win

BASKETBALL

WARWICKSHIRE Bears were in dominant form to sweep aside visitors Swindon Shock 95-14 in the British Wheelchair Basketball League Division One South.

It proved to be a one-sided affair, with the table-topping Bears leading 21-2 at the end of the first quarter and then 51-5 at half-time.

The advantage increased to 71-5 going into the final quarter.

The Bears’ Seconds narrowly lost 46-40 at home to Norwich Lowriders in Division Two South after an end-to-end contest.

Bears’ development team, the Fourths, completed the triple header with a 50-48 win against COB Rockets.

The Bears are next in action when the 1sts and 2nds travel to Stanmore to take on GLL & Aspire London Titans 2nds and 3rds on Sunday, 4th March.
