Superb Story for Skelton brothers at Cheltenham
SUPERB Story gave brothers Dan and Harry Skelton their first Cheltenham Festival success in the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle on Friday.
Laid out for the race after finishing second to Old Guard over the same course and distance of the Greatwood Hurdle earlier in the season, the five-year-old proved extremely well handicapped and romped to a two and a half-length victory over Fethard Player.
The Philip Hobbs-trained pair of Sternrubin and Wait For Me filled the places in third and fourth respectively.
"We've planned it out with this horse and we believed in him," said Alcester trainer Dan.
"I didn't want to run the risk of running in the winter and going down the weights and not getting on the big day.
"It means everything, I'm so pleased Harry was on my first winner, too."
