Success is on the horizon for Stratford Boat Club's Jake Blatcher
SUCCESS is just around the corner for Stratford BC’s Jake Blatcher, vows head adaptive coach Mark Dewdney.
Blatcher represented the club in the open men’s singles at the weekend’s Bewdley Regatta but unfortunately had an early exit against a strong sculler from Trent RC. Steering issues in the first half of the race halted Blatcher’s progress, however, he came back hard as the finish approached.
The line came 20 yards too soon as he finished little over a canvas behind. “There were definite signs that we are overcoming one or two issues and I think he will get a win this summer,” said Dewdney.
Blatcher’s next outing will be at the Maidenhead Regatta on Saturday, 6th August where he will also be helping out with the club’s adaptive squad who will be out in force at the competition.
