Stylish Shottery RFC storm to Parachute Regimental Association Summer Party glory




SHOTTERY RFC marked their return to action by winning the Parachute Regimental Association Summer Party rugby tournament held at Old Leamingtonians.

The opening game of the three-team tournament on Saturday saw Shottery emerge 15-10 victors over the hosts.

Shottery’s next opponents were Fubar Barbarians, a team made up from armed forces veterans and included two current Shottery members.

The men in blue and gold ran out 19-0 winners after running in three tries.

Shottery faced off against Fubar again in the final and here they ran out comfortable 33-5 winners.

Throughout the tournament, there were three tries each for James Gulc and Giles Guest while Gregg Cave, Kev Aston, Ed Benskin, Tom Earldey and captain Aaron Barnes also scored.

Shottery are recruiting new players and training sessions are held at Stratford RFC at 7pm on Wednesdays.
