IT'S the moment fans of Stratford Town Football Club have been waiting for.

The club has had its name up in lights at the home of English football - Wembley Stadium.

Ahead of the Emirates FA Cup final this weekend, the Wembley arch has been lit in the colours of all 370 clubs who have taken part, starting in the Extra Preliminary Round back in early August through to the finalists, Manchester United and Chelsea.

In total, over 11,000 players took part in the 137th edition of the world's oldest domestic cup competition, and there have been over 3,000 goals.

Stratford Town had a decent cup run this year, earning their first win in the competition for five years and then going on to equal their best-ever showing by reaching the third qualifying round.

They beat Newcastle Town and local rivals Redditch United before losing in a replay against Scaborough Athletic after conceding a late equaliser in the initial tie.

The club is currently without a manager following the resignation of Carl Adams earlier this month.
