STRATFORD Town wound up their pre-season friendly schedule with an entertaining clash against a youthful Leicester City side at the Arden Garages Stadium on Thursday night, writes Bryan Hale.

The Foxes’ Spanish striker Raul Uche Rubio opened the scoring with a perfectly directed header halfway through the first half and doubled Leicester’s lead on 34 minutes with another header from close range.

Edwin Ahenkorah pulled one back for Darren Byfield’s side from the penalty spot on the hour mark and Lewis Wilson fired home the equaliser with seven minutes remaining.

Town now look forward to the start of the season proper a week on Saturday, when they welcome St Neots to Knights Lane.
