Stratford Sharks seal promotion with second-place finish

STRATFORD Sharks’ junior swimmers earned promotion to Nuneaton Junior League Division One after finishing a close second to Redditch in the Finals Gala held at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.
The Stratford squad, aged between nine and 12, scored 219 points, finishing eight points behind Redditch, but well ahead of third-placed Bromsgrove on 180 points.
The 54-team league, split into three divisions and spread around the Midlands area, gives many of the younger swimmers the first opportunity of competitive swimming and, on the evening, there were many excellent swims in a highly-charged atmosphere.
