Stratford set for night of sporting celebration




There are eight categories in total, including the Stratford Herald-sponsored Senior Sports Person of the Year prize.

Paralympic duo James Roe and Lily van den Broecke and international rugby player Laura Keates will be present at the event as guests of honour.

Roe and van den Broecke both won gold at the 2012 Paralympics in London, while Keates won the World Cup with England in 2014.

Stratford Bike Hire Senior Team Award: Stratford Cricket Club; Stratford Town Football Club; Stratford Rugby Club.

Fit for Sport Alternative Sport Award: Danielle Brain – Canoe Polo; Nicole Brain – Canoe Polo; Demi Barnett – Tae-Kwon-Do; Sky Barnett – Tae-Kwon-Do; Evie Lowe – Skipping.

Rybrook MINI Stratford Coach/PE Teacher Award: Mathew Pickering – Boxing; Paul Hawkins – Athletics; Daniel Redshaw – Fencing; Nick Bridges – Football; Nathan Edwards – Cricket.

VASA Volunteer Award: Sandy Green – Athletics; Emma Hancocks – Multi-Sports; Jo Littler – Rugby; Mathew Pickering – Boxing.

NFU Mutual Community Award: Stratford Athletic Club Juniors; Stratford Rugby Club; Stratford Cycling Club.

The Clubhouse Junior Sports Person Award: Eleanor Beacock – Ballroom/Latin Dancing; Oliver Cresswell – Athletics; Freya Eaton – Skiing; Agnes McTighe – Athletics; Jack Sumners – Athletics.

Stratford-upon-Avon Herald Senior Sports Person Award: Ian Beach – Wheelchair Basketball; Paul McHugh – Futsal; Richard Shephard – Athletics/Triathlon; Moira Parsons – Bowls; Wayne Vickers – Athletics/Triathlon; Kate Wright – Athletics; Rory Dwyer – Athletics.
