Stratford Ladies eye more silverware
But Stratford are still in contention for the Super League finale next month.
They are currently second three points behind Pershore in the competition which brings 16 teams from the North East and South West Midlands Leagues together to play each other.
The final event is on 15 November at Droitwich RFC.
Though Pershore are the favourites, Stratford could take more silverware if they win and their rivals finish fifth.
Stratford already have one piece of silverware after their success at Newbold.
Despite falling behind to Wellesbourne at half-time, Maddy Rendell scroed twice to secure the win and Stratford’s confidence grew and grew.
Only two more tries were conceded by Stratford in the following five matches, compared to 24 for them; with the tally of 26 tries (from 6 out of 9 of the team) in one tournament being their best yet.
Stratford’s player of the tournament award went to Natalie Gisbourne for her fantastic work rate.
The squad continue their training every Tuesday at Stratford RFC’s Pearcecroft HQ from 6pm.
More new players are always welcome, young and old, experienced or new to the game. See the club website or the Facebook group for contact details.
