Stratford-upon-Avon suffer heavy home reverse in Warwickshire County League
Stratford-upon-Avon's Warwickshire County League's title aspirations were dealt a blow after an eight-wicket home defeat to Streetly.
Gareth Langman 27 and John Stratton 26 made the bulk of Stratford's Premier Division total as they were skittled out for just 67 inside 18 overs at Swans Nest Lane.
Although an early wicket from Tom Gundry gave the home side a glimmer of hope, Streetly reached their target with only one more blemish as Stratford picked up no points and slipped to fourth in the league table as a result of the loss.
Division Three leaders Earlswood boosted their promotion hopes with a resounding 115-run victory at home to Stratford-upon-Avon 2nds.
Opener Alex Laud made 57 and Ben Fitzgerald an unbeaten 76 at Watery Lane as the hosts posted a formidable 273 from their 48 overs.
The Stratford reply never really gained any momentum and overseas ace James McSweeney 3-22 was the pick of the home attack as the wickets were shared between all five bowlers.
In Division Six of the Worcestershire County League, Cookhill lost by 68 runs at Alveley.
Joe Williams 4-43 and Zack Smith 3-38 were in good form with the ball as the home side were bowled out for 300 in their 45 overs.
Set a revised target of 245 from 33 overs, Cookhill were always well behind the required rate despite Smith's 77 off 48 balls with the bat.
In Division One of the Gloucestershire League, Chipping Camden were 124-run winners against Tetbury.
Daniel Moore 40 and Matt Andrews were the main contributors in a total of 308 for 8 before Jack Groves picked up 5 for 39 from his nine overs in the Tetbury reply.
