Then James Huggins, Craig McKee and Dan Gibbs put the Black and Whites 4-0 before the visitors pulled back a late goal from a penalty flick.

Stratford Seconds trailed 4-0 at half-time at home to Stourport and a spirited second-half show was too little, too late.

The Thirds recorded a 5-2 home win against Aldridge & Walsall with James Brookes leading the way with a hat-trick.

It was a real team effort to take Stratford to second in the West Midlands Premier table.

Ollie Sleath and Nick Jones also scored.

The Fourths also enjoyed a home win, with goals from Ian Powell and Andy Davis securing a 2-0 verdict against Bournville.

The Birmingham side, however, had some element of revenge by winning 5-4 in the Badgers’ fixture.

Watch out for an online Picture Special on the Firsts’ win, with pictures from Herald photographer Mark Williamson.
