Stratford Golf Club welcomes its new captain
STRATFORD-on-Avon Golf Club celebrated the dawn of a new club captain with their annual captain’s drive-in.
More than 150 members turned up in support of David Gladwin, who incidentally is the first member to become captain who had previously been a junior member at the club, now celebrating his 51st year as a member.
As with tradition, he played with the three previous club captains, alongside 100 members on a shotgun start played in pairs format.
Mark Thomas and Patrick Jordan won the event with 44 points, Laurence Cole and Chris Mitchell were runners-up on 43, with Peter Whitehead and Barry McDonald third on 42 points.
With such a busy year ahead, Gladwin will be involved in many aspects of club life, including raising funds for The Shakespeare Hospice.
