Shipston hope for good news for skipper Godson

But, having seen a London specialist, Godson is due to have an MRI scan today (Wednesday) to assess the damage so he can step up his training.

Manager Steve Hedderman said: “Joe is a big, big player for us. He is the heartbeat of the team so we have missed him.

“He is doing some light training but we want him to get the OK to start playing again.

“He is so laid back. We call him ‘Captain Quiet‘, but he does his talking with his performances on the pitch.”

Shipston head to Enville for Saturday's Midland League Division Three fixture with the same squad which bowed out of the Les James Challenge Cup to Droitwich Spa last weekend.
