SHIPSTON-ON-STOUR were denied victory by a converted try with the last play of the game at Manor Park.

Shipston had led 12-0 after eight minutes after tries from Harry Barnard and Harry Clark in the Midlands West Three (South) contest.

But Nuneaton side Manor Park rallied as the conditions worsened, stopped the Rams in their tracks.

Having pulled back one try, the hosts then grabbed a controversial try from the final move before landing the conversion to make it 12-12.

Alcester also suffered frustration on their travels in Midlands Three West (South) as they went down 24-20 to leaders Dunlop.

Alcester led 20-17 at half-time tries came from Alex Chiles, Frazer Jackson and Jack Green.

Claverdon raced in for a convincing 45-0 win at home to Tenbury in Midlands Four West (South).

Their tryscorers were James Barton (3), Sam Turrel, Tom Johnson (2) and Bill Whetton.

Harbury also registered a hatful of tries but their 42-0 win at home to Pershore was far from straight-forward.

Elsewhere, playing at Pearcecrofts’s main pitch, Shottery scored eight tries as they swept aside Evesham 3rds 58-10 for a third win in a row.
