STRATFORD staged a remarkable finale to defeat title-chasing Shifnal and boost their hopes of escaping relegation.

The Panthers’ seven-run success at Swans Nest Lane pushed them out of the bottom two in the Birmingham League Division Two table.

Skipper Mike Brown says the win is the perfect confidence boost for the final third of the season.

Opener Rob West top-scored with 89 in Stratford’s 220-8 against Shifnal and then seamer Brown took five for 69 to help dismiss the visitors for 213.

Herald photographer Mark Williamson was there to capture the action at Swans Nest Lane.
