Ryde qualified 13th for the first race of the weekend and in the rainy conditions, he made a lightening start to get away with the lead group.

Ray, who started 12th, could not find the same confidence in the wet conditions, splashing his way round to a solid ninth place.

Ahead of him Ryde found his form and on lap 12 took second place.

He then had two heart-in-the-mouth moments through the Old Hairpin and into Schwantz before getting back into his rhythm to claim his first podium for Stratford-based OMG.

For the second race of the weekend, Ryde had battled his way through to the front group and his new-found confidence on his home track led to a strong sixth-placed finish.

Meanwhile, Ray finished lower down the order in 12th.

With the rain returning for the third and final race, standing water on parts of the track made things difficult for the riders. Ray and Ryde would come home 14th and 15th respectively.

The final round of the British Superbike Championship heads to Brands Hatch on 15th-17th October.
