Rosie races to European title

SIBFORD School student Rosie Weston followed winning the British title by taking gold in the European Championships in Lisbon.

The 17-year-old, who lives near Banbury, won the Under-20s age group title in the sprint competition.

Weston finished more than one minute ahead of fellow Brit Hannah Pinkney after clocking one hour 12 minutes 35 seconds.

Having led from the 750 metres swim (10:31), she completed the 20km bike leg in 40:53 and then clocked 20 minutes for the 5km run.
