Redditch thrown out of Senior Cup
Thompson-Brown had previously played for Stratford in this season’s competition against Coventry City, leaving league officials with little option but to expel Redditch from the competition.
The decision sees the Reds miss out on a home quarter-final clash against Sky Bet Championship side Wolves, with Solihull Moors being reinstated back into the competition.
A Birmingham County FA statement said: “Further to a recent sub-committee meeting of the Competitions Committee, it was decided that Redditch United Football Club be removed from the competition, therefore Solihull Moors would be reinstated.”
Town will play Rushall Olympic in the quarter-finals of the competition on 15th March.
The Pics beat a youthful West Bromwich Albion XI on Tuesday night to qualify the last eight.
The winners of that tie will take on either Wolves or Solihull Moors in the semi-finals.
