More points for Bidford team Power Maxed Racing at Thruxton
POWER Maxed Racing picked up a decent points haul at the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship held at Thruxton.
A positive qualifying session for the Bidford-based team saw Dan Lloyd put in a time of 1:15.922 to claim eighth place on the grid for race one while Jason Plato clocked 1:16.043 for 11th.
The first race of the weekend saw little headway for the duo, with Plato making up just two places to come home ninth and register seven points while Lloyd was classified 11th after receiving a five-second penalty for being out of position at the start. Lloyd would pick up five championship points for his efforts.
For the second race of the weekend Plato finished where he started in ninth to claim seven points while Lloyd, who lined up 11th, made up one place to cross the chequered flag in tenth, picking up six points in the process.
More points followed for the team in the third and final race, with Plato picking up eight points for his eight-placed finish while Lloyd was slightly further back in 11th resulting in another five points gained from the weekend.
After the latest round of the championship, Plato is 11th in the drivers’ standings with 113 points and Lloyd is slightly further down in 16th with 75 points.
In the teams’ championship, PMR are in sixth place with 215 points.
The next round of the BTCC heads to Croft on 18th-19th September.
