SHIPSTON AC’s teams endured mixed results in the Angling Times/Bait-Tech Supercup last weekend.

With the first match at Packington, it was always going to be a tough match for the club against Beaumont AC.

Shipston’s Dave Oxford won the match with more than 80lb, but the team lost 11-7 on the day.

Sunday saw the next Shipston team go through to the next round automatically after Team Tusses from Coventry pulled out after a complaint about the state of the track being wet and muddy.

The match went ahead without them and the Shipston team fished along with four other Shipston anglers.

Andy Bruce was first with 24lb, followed by John Walkden (17lb 10oz), Mick Belgrave (16lb 8oz), Stuart Fleming (11lb) and Rob Oakey (8lb 10oz).

The next round of the Supercup takes place on the second weekend of June.
