Despite the blustery conditions at the NFU Sports Ground, there was some great football on show and in the end it was the Colts who emerged victorious by two goals to one.

FISSC had taken a tenth-minute lead before Simon Bennett headed home from a corner to level the scores midway through the first half.

There was very little between the two sides in the second half, but Stratford snatched a late winner when Bennett found some space on the edge of the area and sent a stunning shot over the goalkeeper to give his side a 2-1 victory.

The match raised more than £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, which included a donation from Stratford’s Chris Marston who successfully ran a marathon distance throughout January.

In the summer of 2020, Stratford’s over-50s manager Jeff Edgar was diagnosed with and is receiving treatment for prostate cancer, something which affects one in eight men in the UK.
