CARL Adams said the games caught up with his Stratford Town players following Wednesday night's 2-0 defeat to Cambridge City, writes Bryan Hale.

A third match in five days proved too much for Town as Cambridge ran out comfortable winners at Westwood Road.

The Lilywhites wrapped up the points with two goals in four minutes either side of half-time.

“This was one game too many," said the Town boss.

"We’ve had two extremely tough games against Poole and Leamington and it caught up with us.

"There were some tired legs out there and they got their goals at exactly the wrong time either side of the interval which really killed us.

"It’s been a difficult time for us since the turn of the year with the number of postponements disrupting our momentum."

Town are back at the DCS this Saturday to take on ninth-placed Dunstable Town.
