New stand erected at Stratford Town

A NEW stand has been erected at Stratford Town’s DCS Stadium – one day ahead of the Southern League’s deadline.

In order to meet Evo-Stik Premier Division rulings, Town were required to increase their seating capacity by 100 and also improve disabled access at the Knights Lane ground by 31 March.

Town faced relegation if the deadline was not met, but the work is now complete and ready for use in this Saturday’s game against Dunstable Town.

“I am extremely thankful for (club president) Sid Keenan’s support through this process," said club chairperson Melanie Tweddle.

“I’m proud of the work he has done and it has moved the club forward in a positive way.

“We have continually improved the facility at the DCS Stadium and we look forward to more success in the future.

“There are a team of people who work behind the scenes at Stratford Town Football Club to ensure our fans and supporters can continue to watch our games in comfort and style.”
