Stratford Sharks swimming round-up
Stratford Sharks have had an action-packed weekend at the British Masters Championships and Mercian League.
At the prestigious British Masters Championships held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre, Sharks' Masters Ali Skirvin and Neil Truscott showcased their talent against a field of elite senior athletes.
Over three thrilling days, Ali secured ninth in the 50m backstroke, sixth in the 100m backstroke, and fifth in both the 100m breaststroke and the 100m freestyle.
Neil finished ninth in the 50m back and seventh in the 100m back.
Meanwhile, a dynamic team of swimmers aged from nine-years-old made their presence known at the second round of the Mercian League competition in Tamworth, finishing in a commendable third place with a total of 182 points.
This strong showing positions them well on the leaderboard after two rounds, as they gear up for the final showdown on July 12.
Head coach Kim Mortimer said: "We were incredibly proud of our swimmers this weekend.
"Ali and Neil showcased their determination against top athletes, while our team earned a strong third place in Tamworth.
"We're excited to build on this momentum as we head into the final round of the league and future events."
Swimmers from Stratford Sharks are gearing up for an exciting competition at the Regional Open Water Championships on Sunday held at the picturesque Lake 86 in Cirencester.
This event promises to be a showcase of talent and endurance from across the region as Stratford Sharks' swimmers prepare to take on the open waters.
Representing the Sharks will be Katie Wilcox swimming 2km, Charly Marshall tackling 5k and 11-year-old Beth Robothom swimming 1km.
These dedicated athletes have been training hard and are eager to put their skills to the test against strong competition.
