Southern Premier Central live: Stratford Town vs Tamworth

STRATFORD Town return to action after a 20-day break and the final game of 2022 sees league leaders Tamworth come to the Arden Garages Stadium today (Monday).

The Bards have not played since the defeat at Alvechurch on 6th December but Gavin Hurren told the Herald that the break has been "a blessing", allowing the majority of the squad to recover from knocks.

There's no hiding that Stratford are on a poor run of form, having won just one of their last 13 league outings, but Hurren stressed he "doesn't want to talk about" the first half of the season any more and says, starting today, it's a "fresh start" for his side with 22 games remaining.

The games are coming thick and fast and Stratford, who are in the relegation zone, need to turn their fortunes around quickly to climb the table.

Will they be able to sign off 2022 with three points?
